The Milbrath lab focuses on research and extension to promote the health of honey bees and other pollinators. Our focus is to develop a greater understanding of the risks to pollinators and work towards the development and promotion of solutions that promote bee health.
We have a special focus on bacterial pathogens of honey bees and training veterinary students and professionals in honey bee medicine. We also work on projects to determine best practices for parasite management, evaluation of new products, and the health benefits of propolis.
